Director of Resident and Family Services
This position is responsible for the direction and supervision of Support Services for residents of Villa St. Benedict, including management of Concierge, Transportation, Life Enrichment, Campus Educational Initiatives, and Volunteer Program areas for Villa St. Benedict. Promotes and ensures an active, enriched environment for residents. Understands the needs and goals of resident engagement to ensure successful execution. Responsible for VSB quality initiatives, including:  satisfaction surveys, monthly statistical reports to BHS, and facilitation of the Quality Council. Attention to and perpetuation of the core values and mission of Villa St. Benedict are essential.


Manage daily operations of an Independent Living Housing setting or for designated functions within a Housing with Services setting, (generally not to include clinical service oversight) within parameters of established policies/procedures, regulations, and standards of practice; and in keeping with the mission and values of the organization.  Supervise and direct the work of assigned associates.  Create and maintain a high level of tenant and associate satisfaction. Develop and implement marketing and strategic plans in collaboration with Administrator/CEO.


Directs the hiring evaluation, counseling, and termination of housing associates, including coaching staff that are participating in a succession development plan and adhering to affirmative action requirements.

Develops, articulate and implement community vision and strategic planning in alignment with the BHS Quality Agenda. Promote and model integration of Mission and Values in operational management, communications and public relations.  Ensures ongoing integration of Quality Standards.  Ensures that care and service resources in assigned areas of responsibility are in place and are appropriate within defined program parameters. Provide leadership to ensure that care and service is directed and delivered to meet BHS Standards and Policies within resource abilities.  Coordinate move-in, move-out for tenants to ensure smooth transitions.  Plans and monitors financial operations in areas of responsibility to ensure utilization of community resources in a fiscally responsible manner; whereby working towards long term sustainability. Oversees financial services as assigned.  Budget planning and rate setting may be expected.  Establishes and implements plans and systems to maintain occupancy and serve the community in conjunction with relevant residential and service options.  Identify markets and resources, communicate service advantages to effectively conduct the rental and service agreement process. Adequately staff marketing function, complete REPS and RSM training, attend marketing and other community events.


Qualifications Required

  • High school diploma.
  • Sensitivity and aptitude for working with the elderly.

Qualifications Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Experience in housing management or senior care.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with the senior population in a supervisory role.
