Join an organization with core values - Respect, Justice, Hospitality and Stewardship! The PACE Care Assistant works 64 hours/pay period with rotating weekends. This is a day-shift position that requires flexibility to start at different times during the week, and work one evening each week until 9pm. The shift includes a weekend rotation on-call one weekend every 3-4 weeks. All shifts vary based on clinent and staffing needs. 

Overview

The PACE-Care Assistant will provide resident care and non-delegated nursing tasks, as required or assigned, under the supervision of the licensed nurse.  The PACE-Care Assistant completes assigned tasks to ensure timely, efficient and safe client/resident care.  Communication and interactions with clients, residents, families and other health team members is an essential component of this position to assure resident safety and well-being.  Must be able to manage building emergencies and to work independently, demonstrating good judgment toward care and safety.  The PACE-Care Assistant is not able to pass medication or perform other delegated nursing tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial and ongoing data collection on all clients/residents under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • Implement non-delegated nursing components of the plan of care developed by the RN based on client/resident physical, psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs.
  • Provide direct resident care and reports condition and changes to the nurse.
  • Perform or assist with general care and service needs as assigned, which may include meal service, light housekeeping, laundry, pet care, leading recreational activities, etc.
  • Demonstrate a knowing of each tenant/client assigned to their care from a whole person perspective, including likes and dislikes, and integrates this awareness into the service provided: person-centered care.
  • Demonstrate time management and prioritization of tasks.
  • Document results of client/resident care within established policies, procedures and scope of practice.
  • Promotes the Benedictine Mission and Core Values of Hospitality, Stewardship, Respect and Justice by bringing the Mission and Core Values into the day-to-day activities of the company.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED

  • Hospital, home care, or nursing home experience
  • CPR certified
