JOB SUMMARY
The Rehabilitation Director is responsible for the overall organizing, developing, and directing of occupational, physical and speech therapy services in accordance with the standards and practices of each discipline, State and Federal regulations, and facility policies and procedures. This position is responsible for working collaboratively with other health care professionals within and outside of the facility to achieve departmental and facility goals. The Rehabilitation Director assures that the highest degree of quality patient care, customer service, fiscal responsibility, and regulatory compliance is maintained at all times. The Rehabilitation Director will exemplify the core values of Benedictine Health System.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manage facility rehabilitation teams to maximize employee activity logistics, care planning, interdisciplinary treatment, and the development of new rehabilitation programs. Support direct care services through staff education, training, competencies, and quality assurance.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with physicians, facility and community health care professionals, residents, and families.
  • Supervise staff which involves direct and indirect responsibilities for staffing, training, orientating, motivating, wage and salary administration, performance appraisal, developing goals, and procedures to assure achievement of goals as well as to delegate tasks to appropriate staff the administrative authority and accountability necessary to perform assigned duties. This includes coaching staff that are participating in a succession development plan and adhering to affirmative action requirements.
  • Assist in planning and development of rehabilitation departments’ budget and administer within established guidelines. Track, analyze and report rehabilitation financial performance to facility administrator and corporate financial departments. Assure timeliness of input and maintenance of all records and billing to meet documentation and regulatory requirements. Provide education to facility staff and therapy staff on reimbursement and financial management for fiscal responsibility
  • Assure regulatory compliance in occupational, physical and speech therapy service delivery. Develops, maintains, and periodically updates rehabilitation policy and procedure manual. Develops, updates, and implements the Quality Assurance program in the rehabilitation department and facilitates rehab participation in facility compliance program.
  • Attend meetings, workshops, seminars and participates in committees as requested/required. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending education workshops, in-services, and reviewing professional publications.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
• Current state licensure in field of practice PT, OT, or ST, which must be in good standing
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Manages multiple priorities and manage time effectively within a flexible schedule


QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED
• Three (3) or more years of supervisory or management experience
• Master’s Degree
