Overview

The Home Health Homemaker will assist home health patient/resident care with performing household activities to maintain a safe and comfortable environment. The Home Health Homemaker completes assigned tasks to ensure timely, efficient and safe patient/resident care. Communication and interactions with patients, residents, families and other health team members is an essential component of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Performing light housekeeping activities to maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Planning and preparing meals.
  • Accompanying the patient/resident outside of the home, if directed.
  • Participating in supportive activities to promote or maintain the patient/resident independence in the home setting.
  • Maintain household routines.
  • Follow a designated work plan.
  • Communicate significant changes in the status of the patient/resident and/or family.
  • Maintain a record of activities as directed.
  • Promote the Benedictine Mission and Core Values of Hospitality, Stewardship, Respect and Justice by bringing the Mission and Core Values into the day-to-day activities of the company.
  • Performs other duties, tasks and/or projects as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Valid Driver’s License

 

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED

  • Good standing on the State Nursing Assistant registry or appropriate entity
  • Previous home health, hospital, or nursing home experience preferred
  • CPR certified
