Overview

The Resident Services Coordinator-HUD is responsible for supporting and promoting a healthy community among residents by assisting with support groups, family programs, social celebrations, community engagement, and leadership development activities that enable the residents and support their independence. The Resident Services Coordinator-HUD will also advocate for the resident where appropriate and educate service providers about residents’ needs and lack of resources.  This position works in conjunction with the Housing Director.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general service oversight which includes intake, education, and referral of residents to service providers in the general community. These services may include meals-on-wheels, transportation, home health aides, homemakers, financial assistance, counseling, preventative health screening, and other needed services.
  • Develop and maintain a resource directory that may include a listing of state and/or local service providers that residents can contact for assistance.
  • Contact, communicate, and serve as a liaison to community agencies to advocate for residents, seek out new services, and keep the case management and provider agency current with the progress of the individual.
  • Inform residents about service availability, how to apply for services and benefits, consumer rights, and other relevant issues.
  • Organize meetings to educate residents about housing development rules, regulations, and operations
  • Promotes the Benedictine Mission and Core Values of Hospitality, Stewardship, Respect and Justice by bringing the Mission and Core Values into the day-to-day activities of the company.
  • Performs other duties, tasks and/or projects as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree (degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling preferred)
  • Fulfill and maintain education requirements as outlined by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED

  • Two (2) years of experience supporting seniors (areas such as social work, case management, hospital, assisted living, nursing home, hospice, or home health).
  • Experience in social service delivery
  • Familiarity working with the HUD program

Salary Range

$25.00-$27.48
